Manikarnika Ghat

The sacred cremation ghat where the eternal fire has burned continuously for thousands of years.

Mythology records that Goddess Parvati lost her earring (Manikarnika) here while bathing in the Chakra-Pushkarini tank created by Lord Vishnu.

Known as Mahasmasana (The Great Cremation Ground). The pyre fire never extinguishes.

Accessible by boat from Dashashwamedh Ghat or walking narrow alleys from Chowk.
